About Us
Grant Oliva Excavations was born in the early 90s with Grant working as a single operator with one truck and machine.
Having been in business now for over 30 years, we are proud to have a modern fleet of tip trucks, excavators, track loaders, and skid steers. All machines are operated by one of our experienced and friendly staff. With Scott and Riley running the day to day operations along with foreman Jye and the remainder of the team, their experience and attention to detail ensures a safe, clean job, every time.
With second generation Riley and Scott along with Jye, a friend and workmate for over 20 years, we truly are a family run business. The safety of staff and the public is our top priority. Staff are trained in all aspects of safe work practices, and our company is Rapid Global compliant and has an excellent safety record.
Our Fleet
Our modern fleet includes single axle tippers, ASV track loaders, CAT excavators, and CAT skid-steer loaders.
Our machinery is purchased with minimizing the impact on the ground and environment including tree roots and surrounding vegetation front of mind. Our goal is to provide a minimum impact solution to the work zone.
Track Loaders
Our Track Loaders are the only choice when it comes to low impact works. These machines are ideal when working in delicate environments, and produce very little pressure on the ground.
Single Axle Tippers
Our range of single axle tippers are the perfect size for moving materials throughout reserves efficiently whilst not damaging ground surfaces and surrounding environments.
Skid Steers
Our skid steers are the backbone of operations. Responsible for loading material and other general works, these machines ensure that all work is able to be carried out as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Excavators
Our excavators are the perfect all round machines, with attachments like augers and hydraulic thumbs, they can be utilized in many different ways on site.

Gravel Paths
Safe gravel paths are essential in any local park areas and reserves. With over 3 decades of experience, we are able to construct new path networks and maintain existing ones, to provide a safe experience for all.
Playgrounds
With our versatile range of equipment, we are able to provide maintenance works of existing playgrounds, and assist in the construction of new ones. We specialize in the supply and installation of softfall to meet Australian standards.
Soil Preparation
Preparing your soil before creating a garden bed for planting is imperative to the longevity and health of your plants. By breaking up compacted ground and installing composted material using various methods, we help provide the best possible solutions so your plants can flourish.
Garden Bed Mulching
Delivering and spreading mulch on garden beds helps to prevent weed growth and retain moisture in the ground so that your garden bed remains healthy. A service we have become extremely familiar with, let us help you create and maintain healthy garden beds for all to enjoy.
Along with the services listed above, we also provide a wide range of additional services including minor demolition works and rubbish removal.

The Woody Meadow Project
Naturalistic plantings of Australian shrubs to improve the appearance and function of low maintenance landscapes.
University of Melbourne and their research partners are installing Woody Meadows across cities in railway sidings, roadsides, and parks. Typical low maintenance plantings have low diversity, visual appeal and function. To improve the quality of low input landscape to make out cities more livable, the University of Melbourne have designed Woody Meadows as a novel low cost and resilient alternative. With the program only recently being introduced, and the great results already produced, our team is one of very few that have experience delivering this product as intended.
